A work in progress. I really like this campaign and where it’s headed. The campaign is a heavily based newsletter and text messaging for El Paso, Texas. Yes, SMS. El Paso is the largest U.S. market for text messaging. There’s a direct correlation between the average age and cultural makeup of an area and its residents’ propensity to text message, according to new data from Scarborough Research. The firm found that El Paso has the highest rate of text messaging, followed by Salt Lake City, Dallas and Memphis. Adult subscribers in El Paso text at a rate of 57 percent, compared to the national average of 48 percent. The other three top cities clocked in at a text-messaging rate of 55 percent. A SMS campaign in El Paso seems like a no-brainer, but we’ll see? MBP account.
